SAMANTHA: The best kept secret since the Yellow Rose of Texas

Hailing from the heart of the Hill Country, Samantha is a next emerging star in the Texas music scene. A soulful blend, an essence of southern blues root-influenced country to lyrically thought-provoking songwriting backed by soul. The heartfelt honesty crafts a voice that resonates with emotion and a sound that captures the timeless spirit of the south. Performing live throughout Texas, and along the southern gulf coastline to Alabama and touring the Pacific Northwest for the past 2 consecutive summers, she is a true Texas troubadour.

Samantha Lynn is a Texas singer-songwriter whose music is rooted in the storytelling tradition of the Lone Star State and shaped by a life spent on the move. Before taking the stage herself, she spent time on the road with Todd Snider, selling T-shirts and listening night after night. Those experiences and the inspiration she found sitting quietly at Kent Finlay’s Texas Music History class at Texas State University and his Cheatham Street Warehouse songwriter nights laid the foundation for her own voice to emerge.

Mentored by both Kent and his daughter, Jenni Finlay, Samantha carries forward a legacy of authentic Texas songwriting. She’s opened for Shelley King, Marcia Ball, Madam Radar, and Jerry Miller of Moby Grape, and shared the stage with Heart guitarist Roger Fisher. Her performances at iconic venues like Gruene Hall, Cheatham Street Warehouse, and the timeless song circles of Luckenbach have cemented her as one of Texas’ most captivating rising artists.

Samantha’s dedication to her artistry, cutting her teeth in honky-tonks, dive bars, listening rooms, theaters, and dancehalls, has led her to the prestigious London Bridge Studio. Known for its historic legacy, the Seattle-based studio has become the perfect setting for Samantha to bring her artistic vision to life. She is co-producing her debut album with Evan McPherson, who also plays lead guitar and bass as part of the studio band. The project is engineered and co-produced by Geoff Ott, whose credits include Brandi Carlile and Melissa Etheridge.

The studio ensemble reads like a who’s who of modern musicianship: drummer D’Vonne Lewis (Digable Planets, Limited Edition), keyboardist Ty Bailie (Katy Perry, Joss Stone), violinist Andrew Joslyn (Kesha, Leslie Odom Jr., The Head and the Heart), baritone saxophonist Andreas Wild (Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats), pedal steel guitarist Whit Wright (Thomas Rhett), and tenor saxophonist Darian Asplund, a credited songwriter and studio musician for “Downtown” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Samantha continues to inspire with her unforgettable sound, equal parts grit and grace, engaging audiences through her commanding stage presence, heartfelt storytelling, and the seamless way she trades instruments with her band. With her powerful voice, compelling songwriting, and unwavering connection to her listeners, Samantha Lynn is bringing a piece of Texas, and the heart of the Hill Country, to Americana music.
